IPSO has worked with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) to approve a list of barristers for the Arbitrator Panel. Each has the necessary experience and expertise in media law to rule upon disputes entering the IPSO scheme
How an arbitrator is appointed
When appointing an arbitrator to a case, the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution will make a selection from the Panel, taking into account the complexity of the dispute, any disclosed conflict of interest, the availability of the barrister and any objections raised by the claimant or publisher regarding the appointment of a particular barrister.
